Eating margarine instead of butter is stupid.
Saturated fat has been railed again and again, mainly for being linked to heart disease. This fear of saturated fat–found in animal fats, butter and other dairy products, and coconut oil–has no solid research to back it up. Killing you?
Stop eating processed garbage carbs.
I hate to be the one to tell you if you this, but bread is not a health food.
Back in the day, say 150 years ago, bread used to always be a great, healthy, nutrient-dense food. There wasn’t white and wheat bread; there was just bread. It was unprocessed and made from whole grains. More on our unprocessed past from Mark Bittman.

The food pyramid of death, recommending six or more daily servings of nutrient depleted garbage carbs like pasta and cereal
People are different and they should eat different foods.
The food pyramid, diet books, doctors, and health organizations (I’m thinking ADA) all recommend overly simplified one-size-fits-all garbage dietary prescriptions for how to stay healthy.
People come from different families who come from different ethnic backgrounds, so we all have different dietary history. (more…)

What makes Homer Homer?
High fructose corn syrup is the number 1 source of calories in the American diet.
Today I have a BIG ANGRY RANT to start this off, leave some comments after reading.
Is high fructose corn syrup worse than sugar? Corn production in America is terrible for the environment, uses genetically modified corn, and receives insane amounts of money from the federal government in the form of subsidies. These are all issues worthy of getting seriously pissed about. (more…)
